Beginning the seventh year of operation, Harris Management Services, LLC continues to grow and adapt to the changing cultural landscape ascribed to the convergence of crises in energy, resources, debt, population, species extinction, the Earth’s ability to absorb pollution and climate change – known as ‘the great turning’.

We are pleased to provide this overview of our activities. 2011 will see the convergence of our business efforts with the deepening and growth of ECCoLoV – the Earth Charter Community of the Lower Valley, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit corporation organized under the principles of the Earth Charter, as well as the founding of the ECCoLoV Earth Wellness Center.

The trends we intuitively perceived decades ago, and which have come into stark relief in recent years, set the stage for a mission to bring value to communities, organizations and indivduals that are seeking genuine means with which to respond to the great turning. Business as usual is not only strategically misguided, but also supremely unsatisfying and incoherent with any sense of individual, community or planetary wellness. Structural change is the imperative that will unfold whether invited and supported by our culture, or not. Aligning with these trends is the only coherent response.

But what does that specifically mean in terms of how we live our lives, run our businesses, organize our family life, or participate in our communities or the broader economic-political realm? The role of a good consultant is to help formulate the best questions to be asking, and we believe this is one of them.

The answers emerge -organically – through a process that can be summarized by the mission statement of the newly formed Earth Wellness Center: to deepen awareness, strengthen vision and create beauty.

We are focused on the connection between the individual and collective; how sustainability and personal wellness are inseparably linked and how we must always view our efforts at growth and wellness in the context of the physical and cultural environment. This is a systems perspective that recognizes the inherent beauty and truth of the pull to harmonize at all levels of system – and how this potential can be applied right now, in this moment.

We continue to offer more technical support in the application of energy efficiency and renewable technologies including a specialization in carbon offset markets, including the development of measurement and verification plans, and biofuels marketing. We are among a very few firms to have developed and achieved approval of measurement and verification plans in the State of Connecticut Energy Efficiency Credit markets, one of the only such markets in the country and the world.
